The Commissioner also decided that no additional tax of 5% will be imposed on taxes issued within 2023
The right to submit an objection is extended until December 31, 2023 for taxes issued within 2023 and with an objection submission date until December 31, 2023, the Tax Commissioner decided.
In a statement from the Department of Taxation, it is stated that the Commissioner also decided that no additional tax of 5% will be imposed on taxes issued within 2023 and for which payment is pending and have a payment date up to and including November 30, 2023, provided that they are paid before on December 31, 2023.
As stated in the announcement, the work of expeditious clearance of Personal Income Returns for tax years 2017 and beyond continues by the Department of Taxation, sending thousands of taxes by post to the last declared mailing address. The project will continue in the coming months with the aim of clearing all the Declarations submitted up to the year 2022.
Since, however, there was a delay in the receipt of the Tax Enforcement Notice (TF8 form), due to the mass imposition of taxes and also the non-updating of the mailing address by the taxpayers, the Tax Commissioner decided on the above two measures.
It is noted that the change of data in the Tax Register (address / telephone numbers / activity etc.) is the responsibility of the taxpayers and is done by submitting the T.F. form. 2003 in the local District Offices of the Department.
