The salary increase
The average monthly wage increased by 7.2%
Average monthly earnings increased by 7.2% in the first quarter of 2023, compared to the corresponding period in 2022.
According to the latest preliminary data issued by the Cyprus Statistical Service, which are also presented on StatWatch , the average gross monthly remuneration of employees for the first quarter of 2023 is estimated at €2,217.
During the first quarter of last year the average gross monthly earnings amounted to €2,068.
Seasonally adjusted average gross earnings in the first quarter of 2023 are estimated at €2,289 and compared to the fourth quarter of 2022 there is an increase of 2.5%.
By gender, the average gross earnings of men in the months of January-March 2023 are estimated at €2,376, while for women they are estimated at €2,016.
Men's earnings increased by 7.3% compared to the corresponding months in 2022 and women's earnings increased by 6.7% for the same period.
