Photovoltaic park for the needs of the Ministry of Agriculture

The photovoltaic park will produce electricity silently, without waste or gas emissions, making a significant contribution to protecting the environment.

An agreement for the construction of a model photovoltaic park, for the energy needs of the Central Administration building of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, was signed on Monday, as stated in a Ministry press release.

The agreement was signed by the Director General of the Ministry, Andreas Grigoriou and the representative of the company ENOTECHNIKI ATE, Charalambos Drakos, in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Costas Kadis.

The project in question will cost approximately 183 thousand euros, plus VAT and is expected to significantly contribute to saving electricity, since it has been designed based on the energy needs of the Ministry's Central Administration building.

Specifically, it will have a photovoltaic system with a total capacity of 73 Kw, 28 vehicle parking spaces, of which 4 will have electric vehicle chargers and the remaining 24 will have provisions for the installation of chargers and bicycle parking spaces. Shrubs and trees will be planted around the perimeter to beautify the area.

It is, as stated, an indicative action by the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment to implement the goal of developing a green society and economy, which essentially contributes to the achievement of the national goals "Fit for 55" and the reduction of pollution and of the carbon footprint.

The Photovoltaic Park will produce electricity quietly, without waste and gas emissions, significantly contributing to the protection of the environment and the fight against climate change, since energy costs will be zero.
